In the Winter months we supplement with premium grass hay and local alfalfa to provide additional nutritional value. In addition to offering a selection of cuts on a seasonal basis, we also sell our lamb by the half and the whole animal to encourage consumers to eat nose to tail. <image:caption>We raise Heritage Duroc-Berkshire-Yorkshire crossbreed pigs in our forested woodlands where they can free range and express their natural instincts to dig and root, and graze on plants and grasses. We rotate them through different sections where they love to forage for roots, berries, shrubs, grasses and leaves. They are raised all natural out in the open and are 100% antibiotic-free, hormone-free and vaccine-free. Our heritage breeds are fed grain from a local mill. This mix of foraging and grazing results in a rich deep flavor profile not found in conventional store bought pork. We raise our animals with respect and kindness using the highest ethical standards for animal welfare. We stock a large selection of pork chops, uncured nitrate free bacon and ham, sausage, breakfast links, and roasts, all made from our heritage breeds. <image:title>Beef Shares - A simple way to buy a cow share</image:title>
<image:caption>Our ground beef sells for $11/lb and our steaks sell for up-to $30/lb. With a 1/2 cow share, you get bulk ground beef PLUS a full side of premium cuts—Ribeyes, New York Strips, Filet Mignon, Tri-tip, Picanha, brisket, chuck eye steaks, ... all for a couple dollars more per pound than our ground beef! We charge $13 per pound based on the amount of meat you put in your freezer. With half a cow you can expect to get 200 - 225 pounds of meat, and the total price will be $2,600 - $2,925. Once your beef is ready at the butcher, we can deliver it to you free of charge to Thurston, Pierce, King and Lewis Counties in Washington. What’s in a 1/4 cow share? A 1/4 cow share is a great choice if you have limited freezer space (typically requires approx. 4-5 cubic feet) but still want to stock up on high-quality, sustainable beef. You'll receive a variety of cuts including steaks, roasts, and ground beef, totaling approximately 100-115 lbs of finished meat – essentially half the amount of our 1/2 cow share. The cost structure is the same as our half shares: $13 per pound, based on the amount of meat you take home there are two key differences to understand when deciding if a 1/4 share is right for you: Standardized Cutting Instructions: To ensure fairness when splitting a side of beef, quarter shares come with our high-quality standard cutting instructions (e.g., popular roast sizes, steaks cut to a standard thickness like 1-inch). Unlike ordering a half cow, you won't have the ability to fully customize these instructions, as both quarter shares from the same side must be processed identically. Sharing Unique Single Cuts: A side of beef naturally contains only one of certain specialty cuts (like Tri-Tip, Flank Steak, Picanha, Flat Iron, etc.). When this side is divided into two quarter shares, these unique single cuts must be split between the two orders. This means that while your quarter share provides an excellent variety, it won't contain every single type of specialty cut available from that side – the specific ones included will vary based on how the side is divided. With a half cow share, you receive all the cuts from that entire side.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Beef Shares - buying 1/2 a cow Frequently asked questions</image:title>
<image:caption>Q: Can I get the bones, and fat for making tallow? Yes, after placing your order, we will reach out to get your cutting preferences and ask if you would like to get your share of the soup bones and fat. Note, we do not charge extra for those. Q: Can you deliver my beef share? We offer free local delivery or we can ship via UPS ground for $150 Q: Can I get my half cow cut how I want? The majority of our customers go with our “standard” cuts, however if you have certain customization options in mind we’re happy to work with you to get the cuts you want. Q: How big of a freezer do I need for half a cow? You’ll need approximately 8-10 cubic feet of freezer space. A medium sized chest freezer will be more than enough space. Q: Will my meat come wrapped in paper? No. All our meat is processed in a USDA inspected facility and is vacuum sealed in retail packaging for maximum quality. Q: Can I try a steak before buying a cow share? Yes! Since all our beef is USDA certified we have the ability to sell you a steak or two and some ground beef so you can try before you buy. Q: How long will meat last in the freezer? Beef that has been professionally vacuum sealed and stays frozen, is safe to eat within 2-3 years, however we suggest you eat your steaks within a year for peak taste. We’ve found that Ground beef, stew meat and anything that will be braised tastes great up to three years.</image:caption>
